Lost in Novel-Land
Weekly Wednesday Writing Prompt(s?)

Again, as usual, I’m apologizing for being so absent these days. I haven’t forgotten about any of you, but I’ve been swamped with work. On a good note, I’ve been getting As on assignments and exams, so that’s exciting. The assignment I’m doing tonight for tomorrow is a list of 26 writing prompts. I’ll give you a couple. They’re meant to be very introspective and thoughtful.

1.) Who do you confide in? Why do you trust this person, thing, or being?

2.) The ancient historian Plutarch said, “The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled.” Recall at least one time between grades 1 and 12 when an intellectual fire was kindled in you. Describe that moment as clearly and fully as you can.

3.) Recall a time when you really wish you had said “yes” but didn’t.

4.) What things do you find yourself most envious of?

5.) Write five sentences about a time when you either lost or found faith in yourself.

6.) Over the course of your life, who were the people who most helped you to believe in yourself, and how did they do so?

7.) What in your life needs greater commitment than you are currently giving it?

8.) Look down the road ten years into the future. List the top three goals you have for the person you wish to be at that point. In a well developed paragraph for each goal, examine the value to you of that goal. In another well developed paragraph for each, plan your route to reach that goal.

That should keep you all busy until next week. I know it’ll keep me busy for awhile.
